Beatbot AquaSense 2

Beatbot's cordless AquaSense 2: surface parking, four hours of floor cleaning, a three-year warranty that covers the battery, and one part sold only in Europe.

The AquaSense 2 is Beatbot's cordless pool robot for the floor, walls and waterline, and its distinguishing feature is where it finishes: when cleaning is done or the battery runs low, it parks at the water's surface so you can lift it out. Beatbot's US store lists it at $799 against a regular price of $1,298.

Runtime and pool size

Beatbot gives up to four hours of floor cleaning on the 10,000 mAh battery, and recommends it for pools with a floor area up to 3,230 square feet. It recharges in about four hours on a wireless dock, with no cable to plug into the robot.

It is not the same machine as the other AquaSense 2 models. Beatbot's own comparison gives the AquaSense 2 Pro nine motors, a 13,400 mAh battery, a 3.7-liter basket, surface skimming and a 3,875-square-foot rating, against the AquaSense 2's four motors, 2-liter basket and floor, wall and waterline coverage. Both list 5,500 gallons per hour of suction.

Surface parking

The AquaSense 2 comes up and waits at the surface on its own when it finishes or runs low, and Beatbot says its SmartDrain makes it lighter to lift out. What it cannot do, by Beatbot's own FAQ, is be called back mid-clean from the app. You can change modes in the water or on the deck, but a recall has to wait for the cycle or the battery.

What suits it

  • Depth: Beatbot's FAQ gives a working range of 0.5 to 3 meters, about 1.6 to 9.8 feet.
  • Steps: it can clean them only where they are wide enough to work on and the water on them is at least 0.98 feet deep.
  • Salt: below 5,000 ppm.
  • Infinity pools: walls and waterline, but not the surface.
  • Pool type: Beatbot says its robots handle in-ground and above-ground pools.

The waterline gets two scrubbing passes each time, and the filter basket stops particles down to 150 microns. It connects over 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth.

Buying it, and the warranty

Thirty-six months on the robot, and Beatbot's warranty policy puts the battery, motors, circuit board and sensors inside that. The filter basket and roller brushes get three months.

Two conditions decide whether you get those terms:

  • Where you buy it. The warranty covers robots bought from Beatbot or an authorized dealer, and excludes unauthorized resellers.
  • New or refurbished. A certified refurbished AquaSense 2 gets twenty-four months. The Amazon listing linked from this site's roundup carries both a new offer, sold by Beatbot Tech, and a used offer from Beatbot Refurbished, so check which one you are adding to the cart.

For a claim, Beatbot wants proof of purchase and the serial number, and it serves the claim only in the region where you bought the robot.

What Beatbot does not publish

  • A user manual on its own site. Copies circulate on third-party manual sites, but beatbot.com offers none, so this page does not rely on one.
  • Replacement parts in the US. The US store sells filter baskets and brushes for other AquaSense models, but nothing for the AquaSense 2. Beatbot's European stores list one: a genuine AquaSense 2 filter basket, FBSEA011-GAG.

Where Beatbot's own pages disagree

  • Working depth. One FAQ answer says 1.31 to 9.84 feet; another says 0.5 to 3 meters, 1.6 to 9.8 feet.
  • The filter. One FAQ answer describes a single-layer 150 µm filter; the next describes a two-layer 150 µm filter.
  • How a warranty claim is settled. The product page promises replacement, with no repairs. The warranty policy says Beatbot will repair or replace, after the customer ships the robot for diagnosis.

Beatbot AquaSense 2 warranty

3 years parts

Thirty-six months in the United States and Canada on the main body, which Beatbot's warranty policy defines as the drive box, including the battery, circuit board, motors and sensors, plus the plastic parts and the power supply. The filter basket and roller brushes are consumables warranted for three months, and certified refurbished units get twenty-four months, not thirty-six. The policy applies only to robots bought directly from Beatbot or an authorized dealer, excludes items bought from unauthorized resellers, and starts on the purchase date on the receipt. A claim needs proof of purchase and the serial number, and is served only in the Beatbot service area where the robot was bought. Beatbot's product page sells this as full replacement with no repairs; its policy says Beatbot will repair or replace, and that shipping the robot to a service center for diagnosis is the customer's to arrange.

Manufacturer’s terms

Beatbot AquaSense 2 parts

Beatbot publishes one part number for the AquaSense 2, and not in the US. Its US store lists filter baskets and roller brushes for the AquaSense and AquaSense Pro, each marked for the robot it fits, and nothing for the AquaSense 2; a search of every product in that store found none. Its European, French and German stores do list a Genuine Filter Basket for AquaSense 2, FBSEA011-GAG, at €59, alongside separate baskets for the AquaSense 2 Pro (FBDSA021-GAG) and Ultra (FBDSA011-GAG). None of Beatbot's stores lists a roller brush for it. Beatbot publishes no user manual on beatbot.com, so there is no exploded view or owner-replaceable part list from the manufacturer. Its warranty names the filter basket and roller brushes as consumables. For anything else, the route is Beatbot support with the robot's serial number.
