Aiper Scuba S1

Aiper's lowest-priced robot, the Scuba S1, in its 2026 version: what changed since 2024, the parts Aiper sells for each year, and its tight water limits.

The Scuba S1 is the lowest-priced robot on Aiper's US store: a cordless floor, wall and waterline cleaner, listed at $529.99 against $699.99 when this page was checked. It is also the robot Aiper sends as the free replacement for its recalled Seagull Pro.

Three versions under one name

Aiper has sold the S1 in three versions, and its own pages tell them apart only by year.

  • 2024: up to 150 minutes, a filter basket only, and no app.
  • 2025: 180 minutes, an app over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and a second, finer MicroMesh filter.
  • 2026 Upgrade: what Aiper's store sells now. The store page adds an app Eco mode of 240 to 270 minutes, 11 sensors and what it calls dual-path navigation.

Aiper publishes no 2026 manual and no list of what changed, and its S1 manuals print no model number. So this page takes its figures from the 2025 manual and says where the 2026 store page claims more. The part that matters when you buy filters is the year: the store lists the MicroMesh filter set only for the 2025 and 2026 versions.

What it cleans

Aiper rates it for pools up to 1,600 square feet and 50 feet long, in concrete, fiberglass, vinyl or tile. Both manuals give a working depth of 1.6 to 10 feet. It has two drive motors, one brushless filtration motor, a single active roller and 4,200 gallons per hour of suction.

Its water limits are tighter than Aiper's newer robots'

The 2025 manual allows 50°F to 95°F, pH 7.0 to 7.4, chlorine up to 4 ppm and salt up to 5,000 ppm, and warns that running it outside those conditions can cause damage the warranty will not cover. The pH ceiling is the one to watch. Aiper's newer V3, S3 and X1 robots allow up to 7.8, so water at 7.6 is inside their limits and outside this one's.

Charging

It charges by cable, plugged into a port on the robot, in about 4 hours. There is no dock. Switch the robot off and dry the port before you plug in, and keep it out of direct sun. The manual suggests plugging the adapter into a power strip or surge protector rather than straight into the wall. It gives no distance from the pool, where the manuals for Aiper's newer robots say 11.5 feet.

Modes

It starts in Auto mode, which cleans the floor and the walls and plans its route around the battery. The button also selects:

  • Floor: the floor only, in an S-shaped route.
  • Wall: the walls, in an N-shaped route.
  • Eco: 45 minutes on the floor every 48 hours, for a week on one charge.

Put it in the water within a minute of starting it. It begins cleaning about 10 seconds after it reaches the bottom.

The app needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; the manual says 5 GHz is not supported, and to keep the phone within 20 feet while you set it up. Once the robot is underwater, the app loses contact.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • Clean the basket after every run, and do not leave the robot in the pool.
  • Choose the filter for the water. The manual says the basket and MicroMesh filter together for cloudy water or some algae, and the basket alone for heavy visible debris.
  • Replace the MicroMesh filter about every 30 uses.
  • Clear the drain fan. Lift the top shell, take off the drain cover and pull out anything wrapped around the blades.
  • Do not run it while the pool filter is running. The manual says not to operate the two at the same time.

For winter, the S1 manual's advice differs from the newer robots': power it off, clean and dry it, box it, and charge it every two months to 40 to 60%.

When it is not cleaning properly

Neither S1 manual has a troubleshooting table. The light is the guide. Its color shows the battery, blue above 50%, yellow from 50 to 15% and red below 15%, and it pulses while charging. A rapidly flashing red light means a malfunction, and the manual's causes are a blocked filter basket, a stalled motor or electrical leakage. Clear the basket first.

Where Aiper's own pages disagree

  • Runtime. 150 minutes in the 2024 manual, 180 in the 2025 manual, up to 270 in Eco on the product page and 240 to 270 on the store.
  • Pool type. The product page's table says in-ground. Its text says it is designed for above-ground and in-ground pools.
  • Shallow areas. The product page promises expanded 12-inch shallow-area cleaning. Both manuals give a minimum depth of 1.6 feet.
  • Modes. The product page and store count five. The manual's button cycles four.
  • Charging time. The product page says 3 to 4 hours; both manuals say 4.
  • Warranty. The manual, store and warranty table say 24 months. Aiper's extended-warranty page says the standard warranty is one year.

The Seagull Pro recall

In March 2025, Aiper and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled the Aiper Seagull Pro, model ZT6001, sold from March 2023 to May 2024. Aiper says its battery can overheat when charged with a large-current adapter, posing a burn and fire hazard. Affected units have a batch number beginning with 61 on the bottom. Owners are told to stop using it and contact Aiper at recall@aiper.com, and the remedy is a free Scuba S1.

Buying it

The Amazon listing linked here is the Scuba S1 2026, sold and shipped by Aiper, and Aiper's list of US sellers includes Amazon.com. Aiper's store also sells a renewed S1 2026 with one year of warranty against two for a new one, so check the listing says new. Keep the order number: Aiper's warranty form will not take a claim without proof of purchase.

AI00455531001 is the item number on Aiper's US store, which sells one S1, titled 2026 Upgrade, and listed it at $529.99 against $699.99 on 14 October 2026. Aiper Scuba S1 warranty

2 years parts

Twenty-four months on the battery and motor, in the manual, on the store page and in Aiper's US warranty table, last updated 16 April 2026, which gives the original S1 and the 2025 S1 a row each. A renewed S1 from Aiper's store gets one year. The policy covers only robots bought from Aiper or an authorized seller, in the country where the robot was received, and excludes purchases from unauthorized or personal resellers, lost or stolen units, and robots repaired by third parties. The S1 manual adds that running it outside its water limits can cause damage the warranty will not cover. The policy starts the period on the delivery date; the manual says the purchase date. Filters are consumables with a three-month period, and Aiper offers paid repair once the warranty ends.

Manufacturer’s terms

Aiper Scuba S1 parts

Aiper's S1 manual names the parts but numbers none of them. What Aiper's US store sells for the S1 is listed above: the basket, the MicroMesh filter set, the roller brush film, the caterpillar tread and the charger. It also sells a hook, and an $89.99 care kit with filters, a basket and a hook that was out of stock on 14 October 2026. The store's accessories page says which versions each part fits. The basket fits the 2024, 2025 and 2026 S1, but the filter set and the brush film are listed only for 2025 and 2026, and the tread and the charger pages name no version. There is no dock, because the S1 charges by cable, and no manual describes a way to replace the battery. For anything else, the route is Aiper support with the serial number: service@aiper.com, or the repair request form on aiper.com.
