Aiper Scuba S3
Aiper's Scuba S3, with no camera and no dock: 180 minutes a charge by the manual, the V3 parts it shares, a sealed battery, and where Aiper's pages disagree.

The Scuba S3 is the V3 without the camera and without the dock. It has the same suction, the same size of battery and the same filters, and it cleans the floor, walls and waterline. It steers by a dToF distance sensor and Aiper's WavePath 2.0 path planning, and it charges from a cable plugged into the robot. Aiper's US store listed it at $699.99 against $799.99 when this page was checked.
What it cleans
Aiper rates it for in-ground pools up to 1,600 square feet, in concrete, vinyl, fiberglass or tile. The manual gives a working depth of 1.6 to 10 feet, and the S3 does not skim the surface.
It measures 17.5 by 15 by 8.6 inches and weighs 18 pounds, which Aiper's product page leans on. A quick-drain body sheds water as you lift it.
Runtime and charging
The manual gives 180 minutes on the 10,400 mAh battery and says the battery cannot be replaced. Aiper's store says 240 minutes in Eco mode, but the S3 manual describes no Eco mode at all.
Charging takes about 4 hours. The charger plugs into a port on the robot, and the plug goes in either way up. The manual says to dry the port first and to charge out of direct sun, and the robot has to be switched off while it charges.
Modes
It starts in Auto mode, which cleans the floor and then the walls, scrubbing the waterline on the walls. The button also selects Floor, Wall and Waterline, and the app sets schedules of four 45-minute runs, three of 60 or two of 90.
Setting it up
- Charge it at least 11.5 feet from the pool.
- Turn the pool pump off before a run, so the robot cannot get held on the main drain, and keep everyone out of the pool.
- Get it in the water within 5 minutes of choosing a mode, or it switches itself off.
- On tile or mosaic walls, if it struggles to climb with an empty filter box, fit the two pieces of buoyancy foam from the box into its side covers.
Getting it out
The manual ties parking to the battery: when it runs low and the status light turns solid orange, the S3 waits at the waterline for 10 minutes and the app sends a notice. Leave it longer and it goes back to the floor, and the hook goes on a pool pole. Let it drain before you charge or store it.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Empty the filter box after every run.
- Replace the MicroMesh filter about every 30 uses.
- Clean the propeller and the sensor when they need it.
- Replace the caterpillar tread and the roller brushes as they wear. The manual shows how; Aiper does not sell either in the US.
- For winter, charge it fully, power it off, clean it, the charging port included, dry it, and recharge it every six months.
When it is not cleaning properly
Like the V3, it tells you which motor is in trouble by alternating its status light:
- Red and yellow: the water pump motor may be jammed. Check the propeller for debris.
- Red and blue: the left drive motor. Clear anything wrapped around the roller brushes.
- Red and green: the right drive motor. Same check.
- Solid orange: low battery. Charge it.
The rest of the manual's table:
- Will not climb the walls: fit the buoyancy foam.
- Stopped on its own: a scheduled run may simply have finished.
- Going in circles: clean the sensor lens, or start it from a different spot.
- Will not charge: a faulty charger, a battery too hot or cold, or a battery run flat by months of disuse. Use it between 50°F and 104°F.
Where Aiper's own pages disagree
- Shallow areas. The store promises floors, walls, waterline and shallow areas. The manual's minimum depth is 1.6 feet, and the store's own comparison table lists floor, walls and waterline only.
- Runtime. The store says 240 minutes in Eco; the manual says 180 and has no Eco mode.
- Parking. The store says it parks at the waterline after cleaning. The manual says it parks when the battery runs low.
- Pool size. The manual says 1,600 square feet and the store 1,614.
Buying it
Twenty-four months on the battery and motor, by the manual and the store. Aiper's policy covers robots bought from Aiper or an authorized seller, and its list of US sellers includes Amazon.com. Keep the order number: Aiper's warranty form will not take a claim without proof of purchase.
Which model do you have?
The model number is on the cleaner label. Everything else in the range is shared — these are the parts that change with it.

| Scuba S3 | PRN30-D | PRN30-D is the model number in the user manual. Aiper's US store sells it as item 40001015.0006, one version marked 2026 New, and listed it at $699.99 against $799.99 on 14 October 2026. In the box: the robot, a charger, one MicroMesh ultra-fine filter, a retrieval hook, two pieces of buoyancy foam and the manuals. There is no charging dock. |
Aiper Scuba S3 parts, and what goes wrong
Read off the manufacturer’s parts list and checked before it ships. Open a row for what a bad one actually does — or start from the symptom and work down, which is the cheaper order.
What is it doing?
Sold as the Scuba V3's basket, and its page says it fits the S3 too. The manual's first cause for poor cleaning is a clogged filter: empty the filter box and rinse the filter hard with a hose. Do it after every run, because the manual says to take the robot out and clean the filter box right away.

The fine filter that rides in the filter box and traps particles down to 3 microns. The S3 manual calls it a consumable and says to replace it every 30 uses, and Aiper's warranty gives it a three-month period. The set is sold for the Scuba V3, and its page names the S3 as a fit.

Aiper Scuba S3 warranty
2 years parts
Twenty-four months on the battery and motor, in the manual and on the store badge. Aiper's US warranty table, last updated 16 April 2026, has no S3 row. The policy covers only robots bought from Aiper or an authorized seller, in the country where the robot was received, and excludes purchases from unauthorized or personal resellers, lost or stolen units, and robots repaired by third parties. It starts the period on the delivery date; the manual says the purchase date. Filters are consumables with a three-month period, and the charger and hook carry six months. Aiper offers paid repair once the warranty ends.
Manufacturer’s termsAiper Scuba S3 parts
Aiper's manual names the S3's parts but numbers none of them, and nothing on its US store is sold for the S3 alone. The two parts above are the Scuba V3's basket and filter set, whose pages say they fit the V3, the N3 and the S3. The manual explains how to replace the caterpillar tread and the roller brushes, but the store sells neither, and no charger. The battery is sealed in and the manual calls it non-replaceable. For anything else, the route is Aiper support with the serial number: service@aiper.com, or the repair request form on aiper.com.
